Abstract: American tegumentary leishmaniasis (ACL) is an infectious, non-contagious disease that causes ulcers on the skin and mucous membranes. The disease is caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania. The objective of the research was to verify the incidence of American cutaneous leishmaniasis in the municipality of Rondolândia - MT from 2010 to 2018. The methodology and of the transversal, documental, descriptive and quantitative type, the information will be obtained from the analysis of epidemiological data provided by health surveillance of the municipality of Rondolândia - MT, who were attended at the Hueverton basic health unit Bruno da Silva Rabelo, who will be separated through a questionnaire carried out by the researchers themselves containing 4 basic questions based on the SINAN compulsory notification form. It was verified that 40 cases of American tegumentary leishmaniasis were reported in the municipality of Rondolândia-MT between 2010 and 2018, 90.0% being male and 10.0% female in the age group with the highest incidence 18 to 59 years of age to 85.0% of the reports and 45.0% of the patients were brown, 95.0% of the patients presented skin lesions and were classified as new cases. The patients' diagnoses were confirmed by 85.0% laboratory, 90.0% of the patients were treated with pentavalent antimonial and 90.0% of the patients were from the rural area of the municipality of Rondolândia-MT. It is concluded that the incidence of cases of American tegumentary Leishmaniasis in the municipality of Rondolândia-MT has been increasing over the years, that is, approximately 1 case per 100 inhabitants, thus, the annual average of these cases corresponding to 5 cases of the annual disease. An urgent action is required by the health surveillance department of the municipality to carry out disease control, since if it continues without prevention in the municipality, this annual index may suffer a great increase over the years.

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Acute pancreatitis is a protean disease with varying clinical findings from mild to severe. CT is the imaging modality of choice to help stage the severity of inflammatory processes, detect pancreatic necrosis and depict local complications. Objectives of this study was to evaluate the role of MDCT in diagnosis and staging of acute pancreatitis and to identify the complications of acute pancreatitis on CT scanning. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This was a descriptive study done from 26th September 2016 to 25th March 2017. 45 patients of age range 17-85 years (29 Male and 16 Female) were included in study. CT scans were assessed for pancreatic necrosis and its complications. Computed tomography severity index (CTSI) was calculated by Balthazar’s grading + degree of necrosis points into mild, moderate and severe CTSI. RESULTS: 14 patients had mild, 14 had moderate and 17 patients had severe acute pancreatitis CTSI. Of 31 patients with pancreatic necrosis 26 (83.8%) patients showed complications and 5 (16.12%) patients were without complications. Of 14 patients without pancreatic necrosis only 5 (35.7%) patients were with complications and 9 (64%) were without complications. CONCLUSION: CT scan should be the investigation of choice if clinical diagnosis is acute pancreatitis and to assess the severity of disease to predict its course.

Abstract: PSD affected the rehabilitation of limb function in stroke patients seriously and it is necessary to adopt effective approaches to treat PSD in clinic to enhance life quality of patients with stroke. The theories and practices for the treatment of post-stroke depression (PSD) with mind-regulating acupuncture therapy by Professor Zhuang Lixing were summarized. Professor Zhuang who has been a doctor for more than 30 years and now is a highly ranked and famous Chinese medicine practitioner, and Dr. Zhuang is an expert in treating PSD by using the mind-regulating acupuncture therapy and this therapy has the exact curative effectiveness. The pathogenesis of PSD is due to the disorder of qi flowing and internal retention of phlegm as well as the blood stasis caused by stroke, which result in the deficiency of nutrition and the failed shelter of spirit in brain. For improving the overall mental function of the patients with PSD, Professor Zhuang accurately locates the “spirit” and stimulates the optimal acupuncture points of Sishenzhen, Zhisanzhen, Yintang (EX-HN3), Shenmen (HT7), and Sanyinjiao (SP6) by electroacupuncture and points modification to induce qi from the spirit and relieve the depression by activating qi flow. Clinical practice of Professor Zhuang provides evidence for the treatment of PSD with acupuncture therapy.
